Please note: This site is undergoing MAJOR reconstruction. In the next few weeks, I will be putting up much better schematic images, and probably better documentation. For now, please live with what I did almost three years (wow, its been that long...) ago.

Our sensor is not Worlds of Wonder Lasertag(TM) compatible! However, our gun is. Please read the documentation carefully if you wish to integrate old WoW equipment with ours. Our sensor and guns are, however, Laser Challenge compatible, without any further modifications.
Sharp makes a sensor module that is pinout-compatible with the Rat Shack module (Sharp makes that one too), which uses a 56.8 KHz carrier wave (making it WoW compatible) ... direct substitution of this part is possible (but untested at this time). We have NO IDEA currently how to get one of these modules.
HBLT is NOT a real gun. It fires an infrared beam of light which is approximately a tenth the power of the light your desk lamp emits. I suppose staring at the LED for a few years might cause damage, but if you are doing that then you need help anyways. You CANNOT hurt someone with these plans AS DESIGNED.

About the Authors ...
Mike Burke is the writer of this silly, stupid, and ugly page, and yet we are all found strangely attracted to both the page and him. Its his amazing power over the universe, causing it to shift form, and bend to his will. Homebuilt lasertag is just one example of his stupendous ability to warp reality. You are all very welcome.

Jeff Wovkulich is also a wacko [read: student] at RPI. In fact, he's the author's roommate. Another fact is that he's not here right now to read what the author is typing about him. Yet another fact is that Jeff is completely insane, and is driven by a mad lust for dog's blood and feline innards. The last, and likely most important fact, is that Jeff also has a KEY to that same dorm room, meaning he will enact revenge for that last part. Sorry Jeff ... :)
